Replacement power jack - This repair will require complete disassembly of your Gateway MA2 laptop, once the system has been disassembled motherboard will be inspected for damages to ensure issues are just power jack related. The Gateway MA2 power jack has 6 solder points which are needed to ground and provide the proper amount of power to your system, these terminals can become damaged, discolored and corroded over time. Generally these issues can occur with normal everyday wear and tear or if there is any direct trauma or impact to this area of the system. Some of the most common issues our customer have reported with their systems are provided below, your system may reveal one or several of these symptoms which may indicate your system needs a power jack replacement:
- Loose Power jack
- Wiggle or holding power adapter in certain position to power unit on
- No LED activity or no power at all
- Physical damage to power jack
- Battery not charging properly
